Sunday, May 3rd - rainy day in Phuket

The first picture was from dinner last night. The next two pictures are from earlier in the trip. One is a spirit house that is found out side many homes. The other is a Thai dancer. Notice how she can bend her hand. We can not do it. Can you?

We woke up to a rainy day so we slowed down and had a later breakfast than usual. We've included some pictures of the buffet that we have been describing. By the time we were done eating, the rain had stopped so we spent a few hours by the pool. The rain had cooled things off a little bit but it was still warm and it was overcast. The ocean was rougher today than we have seen and there was a red flag warning people not to swim in the sea. Despite this, it was still very beautiful here. This is our last day at this wonderful resort. We have a 2:00 p.m. checkout and a 4:45 p.m. flight from Phuket to Bangkok; a 6.5 hour layover in Bangkok and then a red eye flight to Beijing. We arrive in Beijing at 6:30 p.m. and our cousins, Ted and Roberta Plafker are sending their private driver for us. Phil actually sent a picture of the driver so we could try to identify him at the busy Beijing airport. We are well rested and ready for the next part of our amazing trip.

Lots of things are going to be happening with our family over the next week: Our granddaughter, Eliana Clash-Drexler is going to turn one year old on May 5th and our new grandson will be born to Michael and Kimberley on May 8th. Our little family is growing again.
